Job Description:
General responsibilities of the Aviation Academic Instruction position consist of providing exceptional instruction of all pilot ground school training conducted at the academy for customers receiving certification and ratings using a structured curriculum.
Aviation Academic Instructors should also anticipate coordinating and provide instruction for any Academic make up and remedial training for unsatisfactory attempts at examinations.
Essential Functions:
Provide a high level of classroom instruction to all Academy students.
Develop and update ground school instructional material as needed.
Develop and maintain ground school exams.
Generate academic progress reports as needed.
Ensure accurate and complete academic student records.
Mentor all students.
Coordinate and provide instruction for any students who need remedial training or classroom make up times.
Oversee applicable knowledge testing schedules with the expectation to coordinate and oversee any additional training.
Qualifications:
Ground Instructor Certificate (Advanced and Instrument), OR Flight Instructor Certificate with ASE/IA required (MEI preferred).
Commercial Pilot Certificate with Airplane Single-engine and Instrument ratings required (Multi-engine preferred).
Preferred Additional Skills:
Previous Part 141 Pilot School or College Aviation Program teaching experience.
Associates Degree or higher preferred.
Previous classroom teaching experience preferred.
Willing to work a flexible schedule.
