50 an hour QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN SHIFT:
AM/PM; ability to work overtime/weekends, as needed REPORTS TO:
Director of Quality Control and Plant Manager
Summary:
Oversee all day-to-day activities of the Quality Control department within the plant ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Complies and enforces all safety rules and regulations to maintain a safe work environment.
Calibrate Lab equipment weekly or as needed.
Maintain testing lab equipment per annual programmed schedule.
Perform any special tests in the Lab as required or needed.
Help resolve line issues and monitor QC documents.
Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) with all employees to comply with BRC and FDA programs.
Participate in all 3rd party audits including, BRC.
Be an active member on the Food Safety Committee.
Keep KPI records and submit them weekly to Director of Quality control.
Assist in training all employees with SOP, (Standard Operating Procedure); GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices) and HACCP training as needed.
Communicate and work closely with Production, Sanitation and Maintenance Departments to achieve quality standards.
Identify food safety and process improvement and submit recommendations to Director of Quality Control for review and implementation.
Enforce product specifications and standard operating procedures.
Monitor raw material rotation.
Assist in writing Standard Operating Procedures.
Research and investigate customer complaints and write CARs.
(Corrective Action Reports).
Keep records for Corrective Actions for Non-Conformance.
Conduct quality-related chemical and supply inventory keeping a minimum stock before requesting an order Collect final retained samples for storage.
Report issues to Director of Quality Control and/or Plant Manager.
Perform assigned projects and reports promptly.
Identify safety hazards and report to Plant Manager.
Report deviations from standards promptly and make recommendations for corrective actions.
Perform data entry into computer.
Audit records daily.
Spot check daily, Inbound and Outbound documents for raw products.
Perform Weekly Inspections and Monthly Internal Audits.
Oversee pest control program.
Oversee shelf-life program.
Collect sample aseptically for micro testing in an outside Lab.
Assist departmental supervisors and managers as needed.
Perform environmental swab testing as needed.
Perform in the lab, parameter testing on raw, in-process and finished product for correct specs.
Perform additional duties as needed and according to Quality Standard Operating Procedures.
Maintain food safety, quality and legality of the product.
EDUCATION/
Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); College courses in agriculture or science preferred, or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
HACCP Certified preferred LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to create and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must be able to operate a 10 key calculator.
Must be computer literate and able to generate reports using Excel.
Must complete the following training courses:
Evergreen Employee Handbook, Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP, and any additional training deemed necessary.
