Licensed Practical Nurse - OB/GYN
Job SummaryThe Licensed Practical Nurse provides general nursing care to the patients within the LPN scope of practice and following all standards of care and facility requirements.
Primary Functions1.
Greet and room patients promptly and with courtesy2Take full vital signs, as well as height and weight at each office visit3Explain procedures to patients to allay apprehension and gain cooperationHave patient fill out appropriate paperwork before each procedure.
4Administer prescribed medication, injections and treatment in accordance with approved nursing technique, within scope of practice5Prepare equipment and assist medical provider during treatment and examination of patient6Chart accurately and promptly in the EMR7Initiate patient education plans with patient and family8Rotate among various departments and office sites as needed9Keep exam rooms prepared, cleaned and stocked; empty biohazard waste10Help maintain efficient patient flow through communication with healthcare teams11Answer telephone and messages in a timely manner within 24 hours12Monitor desktop and send patient letters / make phone calls daily13Answer patient questions as needed and within scope of practice14Complete 48-hour chart check daily and fill-out appropriate logs as indicated 15Make lab and specialty appointments for patients16Respond to life saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures and protocols within the scope of nursing practice17Complete other duties as assignedEducation and Experience1.
High school diploma or equivalent2Completion of accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program required3Current Florida License, active and in good standing4Current CPR certificationKnowledge, Skills and Abilities1.
